About Course

Welcome to the Kuza Career Data Analytics.

This programme is designed to help you develop practical data analytics skills using Microsoft Excel and apply those skills to real-world datasets.

Throughout the programme, you will learn how to approach data like an analyst, prepare and clean data, perform analysis, use Excel functions and Pivot Tables, create meaningful visualizations, communicate insights and build a professional data analytics portfolio.

The programme consists of four weeks of live instructor-led training followed by two weeks dedicated to independent portfolio development, feedback, improvements and certification.

During the live training, you will work with a real-world dataset that will be used throughout the programme. By the end of the live training, you will have seen the complete process of taking data from its initial state through preparation, analysis, visualization and presentation.

You will then apply these skills to your own portfolio project during Weeks 5 and 6.

Programme Structure

Pre-Live LMS Preparation

Complete the introductory LMS content before the live classes begin.

Weeks 1–4

Study pre-recorded live instructor-led classes.

Weeks 5–6

Build your own data analytics portfolio project, receive feedback, make improvements and complete the certification process.

The certificate is awarded to students who successfully complete and submit a working data analytics portfolio according to the programme requirements.

The Analyst Mindset: Learn how to approach business problems, ask the right questions, and turn raw data into actionable insights rather than just memorizing Excel functions.
Data Cleaning & Preparation: Transform messy raw data, handle missing values and duplicates, format dates and numbers, and restructure datasets to make them analysis-ready.
Formulas, Functions & Lookups: Master essential numerical functions (SUM, SUMIF, AVERAGE, COUNT), text manipulation tools, and advanced merging techniques like XLOOKUP, INDEX, and MATCH.
Data Analysis & Pivot Tables: Use structured tables, sorting, filtering, and Pivot Tables to uncover trends, compare categories, and analyze performance across regions and time periods.
Visualization & Storytelling: Design professional charts (bar graphs, stacked bar graphs), apply visual best practices, use AI responsibly to structure reports, and present findings clearly to stakeholders.
Portfolio & Career Readiness: Build a complete real-world data analytics project, host your portfolio professionally, optimize your CV for ATS screening, and earn your professional certificate.
